1 John 1:9 assures us, "if we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong." If you prayed a prayer to receive Christ as Savior and Lord, you have found God. You have responded to Him, and opened the door to a relationship with Him. You are embarking on a most wonderful and amazing experience, one that will last for all eternity. As you grow in that relationship, you will grow in your knowledge of God and of His love for you. As you comprehend the vastness of this love, you will find the strength to live a life that honors Him. 2 Corinthians 5:15,17 (NLT) says, ..He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live to please themselves. Instead, they will live to please Christ, who died and was raised for them...What this means is that those who become Christians become new persons. They are not the same anymore, for the old life is gone. A new life has begun!
Your new relationship is one that will instruct, guide, and equip you in your Christian life. He has given His word to teach, and He has filled you with His Spirit to help you understand that Word: "All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It straightens us out and teaches us to do what is right." 2Timothy 3:16 NLT ...I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. Ezekiel 36:27 You are no longer alone in this world. No matter who on earth forsakes or rejects you, you have a Father who will never leave you (Hebrews 13:5), and always works to make His love known to you. We suggest you purchase a Bible to begin your journey with God. There are many wonderful versions, but we recommend either the New International Version (NIV) or the New Living Translation (NLT) to help you get started. You may also read the Bible online. In addition to Wordlinks, listed below are a couple of helpful sites: http://www.blueletterbibile.org Please allow us to celebrate this momentous, life-changing decision. Let us know of your decision by emailing our leadership team at womenofwestgate@yahoo.com. We also strongly recommend you contact a minister at your home church. If you do not have a home church, we invite you to join us at Westgate Memorial Baptist.
